The Nuffield did eventually confirm that they cocked up and they are very sorry but my operation is not down for tomorrow and that they cant fit me in. They then rang back an hour later and said they can fit me in on friday. Then they rang back half an hour later and said sorry no, they cant do friday as they have no anaethsetist available! It was then left with them trying to sort something out for next week, obviously i told them i was not happy and had been stressed and upset all day.
In the meantime, mainly out of panic, i started ringing around and checking online. I have come up with Dolan Park Bromsgrove, Mr Super through the 'why go abroad' and they have been so helpful on the phone and have said they can fit me in for my op on Monday!! And..... i can save a substantial amount of money, ok i know it doesnt include the big package but having read lots of threads on the forums there seems to be alot of talk of Dolan Park and Mr Super and this doesnt seem to be an issue. I am very very tempted to be honest and want to tell the Nuffield to go to hell!!

I wondered whether there was anyone else out there who has had such bad luck as me...
ReplyDeleteI was booked in to have my band fitted October 5th. I went in for my last surgeons appointment before my surgery and found out that the staff had told me the wrong information about my pre-op diet... So.. it was delayed two weeks.
Then two weeks later (1 week pre-op) I just had a feeling something else wasn't going to go as expected so rang around to make sure all my accounts were paid properly (I got finance to pay for my op) and found out that the staff had cocked up again and quoted me for a different hospital, meaning my finance was wrong and I would have to wait another week to sort that out if I wanted to stay at the hospital I was SUPPOSED to go into, or change to the other one!
I said to them I was NOT impressed and wanted to know what they could do to help me seeing as they cocked up twice on me already. They came back saying instead of the delay of one week, they can delay it one day if I change my surgeon and go into the hospital that they quoted me for. So I agreed... (not that I should have!)...
The rest of my appointments pre and post op will be with my original surgeon, just the actual surgery is being done by someone else.
All that being said... 5 days to go.. and I still feel uneasy and like something else will cock up.
